1W1_Visions of Energy, Motion and Time

What a week! Enrolment, book orders, emails and an online chat session with my fellow students! After getting used to the learning environment (VLE) and posting information about myself and work, I felt much more settled-almost like being a ‘physical student’ attending my first day at Camberwell College of Arts!

After chatting on Tuesday, I felt a good atmosphere amongst the group and am pleased. It’s great to meet people from all over the world-it gives a broad perspective on all the issues involved with such an experimental artistic medium.

I have completed the foundations of my blog site and am starting to look into the relevant artists I will be researching throughout the course. I couldn’t believe my luck, when I heard Bill Viola is exhibiting here in Tokyo in October-I managed to get tickets for a seminar, artist talk and screening, and symposium! A fortunate coincidence which ties into my research!

I will be starting my visual research over the next few weeks, which will involve capturing images/video of urban life and recording sounds reflecting the imagery…more on that to follow.

It’s good to be a student again!
